CU Curled Grosgrain Ribbons

These ribbons were sent in to be critiqued by the designer Anne Schlegel AKA Creative Dreams. These designer resource ribbons were found to be of superior quality without jagged edges or stray pixels. These ribbons can be purchased for $3.50 at the Creative Dreams store.

OK I will be the first to comment. If all of your CU is of this quality, you just got a customer for life.

Thank you! I have a bunch of CU freebies in my store, so you can test them out yourself if you like.

I try very hard to keep my quality high, and if you're ever not happy with something you've purchased all you have to do is let me know and I will refund your money without hesitation.

No one should be stuck with a product they won't use. After all, if you purchased a shirt at a store and it didn't fit or had a rip in it you'd take it back, right? That's how it should be in digi commerce too!

pretty funny. the edges may be smooth on the ribbons but clearly they were curled using the Page Curl filter, aa there is NO shading or realism contrast where the ribbon should overlap causing the curl.

it takes more then smooth edges to make a good cu product.

this product is sold grayscale, and a little extra effort could have been put into the contrast and shading. there is no realism with this cu tool, unless the designer wishes to take some serious time to work on just the shading. It would be easier to just do it themselves from scratch.

The ribbon looks good up close but I see what you mean - the main preview has a 'digital look' probably because where the curles overlap there's not a lot of shading and it looks like it's merging together.

Sometimes you can fix this with curves and levels.

I agree with 12:34. A little more attention should have been made to make it look realistic by adding contrast and shading. This product looks like a good start, but unfinished.

What is the Page Curl Filter?

Pesonally, I ould rather do the shading and detail myself.

In order for the shading to be "right" the end user would not be able o rotate the ribbon to any other orientation, due to the light and shading coming from all directions.

I prefer unshaded CU products for this reason. I can't stand when the shadows and highlites are going all over the place within a kit or clustered element.

Just my opnion though; I'm probably the odd-ball here!

No you aren't LOL!

I like my CU products to be unfinished as I prefer to make things my own when I use them in my kits. I would shade those ribbons myself depending on how I used them.

Good point!
