Debra Tope's Aged Leathers {Skinny Trim}

Debra Tope has added another line to her "Aged Leathers" Collection. This time it is {Skinny Trims}. These trims come in multiple colors all aged and frayed with the exception of one slight oversight of the right hand side of the trims. I would like to point out that when printed this oversight is not very noticeable and would have to be "pointed out" for anyone to notice. These {Skinny Trims} can be purchased at Debra's OScraps store for $1.99.

wow this looks like some crack designer who only can recolor items

They look to me like something made from scratch and then recolored. There is nothing wrong with that imo.

Why do scathing?

Actually I made each color in the aged leathers collection individually. The trim is made individually from those papers.

For my element packs made in multiple colors I do each item individually.

didnt you slam someone else for doing the same thing - what its ok for you the blog owner to package one items in different colors but not anyone else! you are playing judge and jury on these blogs and making comments that are totally judgemental and you are showing just how unobejective you are being. Please stop you can ask the designers if they want this done but to do it without their consent is so unfair.

Are you just trying to ruin people you are jealous of - because that is the way this is starting to appear. You are obviously a designer with no talent whose designs arent selling so you are trying to ruin other designers - not even caring that the customers dont have a problem with the designers just you

Poster #5 (4:50 am) - maybe you should READ the critique, she didn't say anything of the things you are saying she did. It was a very positive critique as even the designer came in and thanked her. You're trying to start something where nothing exists! At no time is she playing judge and jury - it's the posters that are doing that. Further, how do you know whether or not she has consent? This is not a smack blog, not even close. I think that YOU are a designer who is petrified that you will be critiqued and come up short.

Um, I think 4:50 AM thinks I run this blog or something...

I just thought the blog owner did a nice job of critiquing so I sent her my product to be reviewed.

There is controversy about recoloring - some people like to recolor on their own but some customers don't have the time/skill/interest and prefer the item in different colors - this product was made to match colors in previous product lines so that's why there are so many colors.

Wow, this blog has you really worked up. FYI - The customer is the ultimate judge, and this blog is giving that customer more information in which to make an informed purchase decision. What is your problem with that? Are you hiding something you don't want your potential customers to know?

****
the customer should be the ultimate judge not some smack blog.

I would like to point out to the person that has an obvious problem with this critique that if I were to show a larger section of these ribbons, most of the patterns do not line up, therefore, they were not simply recolored. Maybe made out of another product as the designer stated, yes, but simply the same recolored ribbon, no.

Also, I would like to point out the fact that Debra Tope sent this item in to me "The Critique" to have her newest item critiqued, so her customers could see up close the quality she is offering. I also have done several private critiques.

If any of the readers or commentators of this blog have concerns or problems with anything that is critiqued by me, please by all means, email me. My email addy is: grabbagcritique@gmail.com

Geez, 4:50. Ever hear of a RESTAURANT REVIEW by any chance? This is no different.

I for one am learning so much from this. And I'm thrilled other designers are learning, too!

Great job Debra!

Great review! Oh and Debra? I think they are great! Don't mind the naysayers.

I love Debra's stuff, and I've never been disappointed with anything that I've bought from her.

It's also nice to see a designer that doesn't mind her stuff being examined and discussed. It's great to see that there are still a few designers out there who can behave like professionals.
